Breaking Block

Writing, when words flow, is like making music. But when you can’t find the voice, the rhythm or the chords (words), in comes writers block. This is nothing unusual, but it stops the flow. Because I just completed the second draft, which entails all the research and the storyline, it’s now time to bring in the music but the cadence is off. After sharing this with another writer, it was suggested that I be still, be quiet and allow the fallow time to support the process. In short, be patient. Not my strong suit. This is a predicament because I like progression. I like crossing finish lines. Yet, this is a discipline I have to trust. And I can rest, knowing I will finish what I started.
If willing, please tell me when and why your creativity was blocked by an inability to move forward.
